Allright, I called in the calvery and someone actually answered!! Meet the newest member of the HVD Dev Team!! I shot him a few rapid fire questions to see what makes this programmer tick!!
Me: Tell us about yourself. Chris:I like to RP over chat and play and program games, I'm 17 and um... I'm a brony? (No hating )
Me: What kind of experience do you have? Chris: I've been programming self taught in Java for about... 5-6 years now, I've made a few cool things here and there. Most notably a working concept for a PvZ clone and a isometric tactics game.
Me: What drew you to the project? Chris: I saw something I could contribute to and a chance to work as part of a group.
Me: Show us something funny!! Chris: ...

Me: So what are you going to be doing? Chris: I'll be looking at walls of code then improving said walls of code and writing more walls of code.
Me: What is your favorite H4X card. Chris: I like those robot cards that you pwned me with and their upgrades. (That's X03 BTW )

So that's the new guy!! I'll be putting him to work soon on HVD, and we should have some cool stuff for you guys all soon

Supersized edition to make up for my lapse yesterday

Look up. See those guys up there? The ones clumped together in the header? They all had to start somewhere, and that somewhere was in my handy-dandy sketchpad!
  
Oh, and remember that (failed) LZComics idea? It never left the ground because I was missing 1 crucial piece of equipment: A scanner to cut the work in half. Now I have one, and now maybe I'll be able to breathe some life into that project.

Someone wanted it. Nobody requested it. My series is coming back!

Now that I have a working scanner again - a Visioneer OneTouch 9520 Photo Scanner bought used off Amazon.com - I'll have a much much easier time cranking out my random drawings. Some will be rough sketches straight from the sketchpad like the banner above, others will be pieces finished in Photoshop while the rest will lie somewhere in between.
Be sure to keep a lookout for whatever may pop up!
If you have any requests, voice 'em here and now!

Time to fill you all in!
Allright, the next two weeks are going to be a bit interesting, so let me catch you all up on where I stand with everything and what you can expect coming out of LZ pretty much for the rest of february.
Next week I close on my new house (YAY!) so moving will ensue. This means not only will I not be online, but the Minecraft server will also be off as the machine will be stuck in a box.
This also means probably no MineTime or other videos, unless one of the other guys wants to take a crack as editing an episode of something, or taking on a Vlog. I will let you all know if someone volunteers.
After that we have been working hard on a new minecraft server that will most likely debuet at the end of February / Early March.
ENOUGH MINECRAFT!!
HVD TIME!!
The game is still being upgraded daily. I'm working on a Banned/Limited list implementation, and we're slowly moving towards a 1.0 ALPHA of the game. That release will include attached characters and POSSIBLY combat. I still need to see how that will work. Without card resolution, I'll probably need to add some other temp commands in place. Right now the to-do list is:
- Attaching Upgrades - Overdrive - Combat - Sequences
- Better sounds / sound efects
- Banned/Limited list - Standard Gametype (Will follow B/L list for games) - Stat tracking and submission on Standard games.
Expect the game to be ALPHA around Spring 2012.
Speaking of Spring 2012, we're working on the second set for HVD, DISCOVERY. However we will probably have to push back the set to Summer of this year until we can get all the cards properly iamged, or at least temp images.
Also I have another HVD announcement, but that has to wait until after I finalise a few things with the person, and get some other resources set up. It's awesome news though.
Overall, I think that's it! Good things are happening but that whole IRL thing is interrupting me so I need to take care of that Don't go complaining, I'll make it worth your while I promise.

Inching closer to alpha!!
Alpha will probably happen when we can do full Upgrade attachment, banned/limited list, and a few other essential to the game features. Then I'll make sure all the sounds work and make the netcode as efficient as I can, then we move into effect resolution!!
Let's focus on today though, shall we??
LEGEND: + Addition - Removed # Bugfix
+ Added ten missing cards (only 8 empty left!) # Opponent's avatar now draws # DrawHand how draws he proper number of cards # Buttons on the left of the card now work properly + Added HUMAN and DIGITAL labels to the field # Non-Character cards now no longer show their placeholder ATK and IJD - Upgrade cards can no longer be played where there is no Character Card (Not attaching yet though)
So yes, to do soon!
Match Finder starting a new match when told Upgrade Attaching Banned / Limited List Overdrive Support Theme Support (With special themes for VIP's!)

Inching closer to an almost finished game!
I keep working on this even when my job keeps me for a 12 hour day, don't worry about that. Progress has been good, here's the change list. As always HVD will check for this update and automatically download it!
LEGEND: + Addition - Removed # Bugfix * New feature
- Remove Activate Button when clicking a firewall in the hand # Activating facedown now triggers field update + Added helpful messages on player action + Sped up Damage() and Heal() events # Play card text changed to "Upload" for characters and "Activate" for everything else + Added 20 new images + When clicking on the board, empty field zones are cleared * New, much easier to understand, action menu
Small update today, but 8.3 is looking to be a big one! It will include (hopefully)
- COUNTERS! - Finally drawing the opponents' avatar! - Better drawing of the action menu - More Actions (Attack Maybe!?? (GASP!!!) - Banned / Limited List implementation (for Standard gametype)
From there we go to v0.9 where we start working on card to card implementations, and other essential game elements!

UPDATE! Now with 1000% easier updates!
As in, automatic updates! From now on launch HVD should check for a more recent version and if it finds one, allow you to download it directly.
